Belongil Beach
Lying behind the location of the old whaling station with the remnants of the old jetty still visible, Belongil Beach lies to the north of the main town, easily accessible by car or a short 20 minute walk along the beach itself. This unpatrolled beach has some good waves, but can be inconsistent due to the banks. It is also one of the few beaches in town where you are able to walk your dog. Belongil is the location of some exclusive accommodation options that are situated almost on the beach itself, so can make for the perfect location to get away from it all. There are a couple of cafes and a popular bar/restaurant that has a relaxed atmosphere.
