Broken Head is both a popular surf spot and family beach, and has both BBQ and shower facilities and a large grassy area for picnickers. It’s another peeling right-hand point and beach break that is suitable both for long and short boarders. There is a camp ground next to the beach, so there’s lots of families here all day, but it’s a generally friendly break that can be both harsh and forgiving. Broken Head can hold a fair bit of size, so check it out if you’re lucky enough to be here when some good swell comes through, while beginners might enjoy it on a smaller day and find some respite from the crowds in town.
