By far the most popular and accessible beach from the town, Main Beach is the best place to go for some interesting people-watching experiences. You’ll see the spectrum of locals and visitors here from sunburned backpackers to travellers with drums, frisbee-playing groups of holidaying schoolies and families on their annual holiday. The beach is safe and friendly and is patrolled year round by the local surf lifesavers whose clubhouse sits in front of the beach. With views across the Bay to The Pass and north to Wollumbin, this iconic beach is an easy place to lie in the sun and pass the time.
